There will be a proclamation by Mayor Kevin McCarty's office. Keynote Speaker; Ditas Katague is a first-generation Filipino American. She was appointed by three California governors and the President of the United States, and led California's census outreach across three decades, chaired the U.S. Census Bureau's National Advisory Committee on Racial, Ethnic, and other populations, and served as the Bureau's Associate Director for Communications and Engagement. Second speaker; Liza Clavecille, a Lector at CSUS and taught Tagalog as a second language, many students who were first generation Filipino American. She was the first Filipino/female Social Services Consultant hired by State of California in 1977. Serving and advocating for Filipino Home Providers and their clients. LUNCH/Filipino food and music. Escrima Demonstration. Certificates Honoring Five First Families, and three historic organizations (Legionarios Del Trabajo, Filipino Community of Sacramento and Vicinity, and Sinig Tala).
